Things to do in Denver- October

October is all about fall, pumpkins, the leaves changing, and Halloween! Here are some great things to check out this October here in Denver!

Right now the leaves are changing color and if you have never experienced this, you need to drive to the mountains and check it out. A scenic route to take is to head towards Mt. Evans via I-70 and CO-103. When you get to the road that goes up Mt. Evans, it will be closed. Continue on CO-103 until it turns into Squaw Pass Rd and CO-66. Follow this road until Evergreen Parkway. Take a left at Evergreen Parkway to head back to I-70 and Denver. The first pictures and the next couple are a few pictures from when we went with the school last year.

Another traditional activity this time of year is to go to a corn maze. The one at the Botanic Gardens in Chatfield is a good one to try. It is open now until October 27th on Fridays from 4pm-9pm, Saturdays from 12pm-9pm and Sundays 12pm-6pm. It's $10 dollars with your student ID. If you want the corn maze to be a little more interesting, you can go at night to the "Field of the Undead." This corn maze is haunted! It is open from 7:30pm-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It's $15 dollars!

Speaking of scary. You must go to a Haunted House if you are in the United States for Halloween. The Haunted Houses around Denver are open now and will stay open until Halloween on October 31st. The top 5 haunted houses in Denver are:
1. The 13th Floor: $25
2. Asylum: $25
3. Undead: Included in The 13th Floor ticket
4. Primitive Fear: Included in Asylum ticket
5. Field of Corpses:  $16

If you want to go to the top 4 you can buy a combo ticket for $45 dollars.

On October 19th, Downtown Denver is having a Zombie Crawl. The festival starts at 2pm and the parade down 16th street is at 4pm. Dress like a zombie!

Happy Halloween!
