CSE STUDENTS GO HIKING!

Last Friday, CSE students went hiking on the beautiful and popular Apex Trail in Golden.

Thank you to the students who came to give this a try!

It's obvious they had a good time!

The hike took about 2 hours from start to finish. Luckily, there are a lot of great hikes not too far from the Denver area.

We hope to do a lot more hikes at CSE this summer, and it's a great way to see this beautiful state.  Some deer were even spotted on the trail!

June Events in Colorado

HEY STUDENTS!

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR FUN AND FREE THINGS TO DO IN THE DENVER AREA THIS SUMMER?

Well, the good news is, summer in Colorado is never boring! As the temperature warms up, more and more free festivals and events are happening.

Here's a line-up for FREE events in June:

City Park Jazz:  City Park Pavilion, Sundays, 6-8pm

Jazz in City Park is a relaxing way to spend a Sunday evening-you can make a picnic and sit on the grass while you listen to the soothing sounds of jazz.

The Denver Greek Festival:  Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral,  June 20th-22nd (This event isn't free, but it only costs $5)

Come to the The Denver Greek Festival to celebrate the culture, food, and dance of the Greeks!

Juneteenth Music Festival: Five Points Neighborhood, June 14th

The Juneteenth Music Festival will feature an urban car show, art walk, parade,  and of course live music by different artists.

Capitol Hill People's Fair: Civic Center Park, June 7th-8th

The People's Fair is an art and music festival that celebrates diversity. You can sit on the grass and enjoy the sunshine outside of the capitol.

World Soccer Celebrations: Skyline Park, June 13th-16th

This soccer celebration will feature live broadcasts of matches from Brazil on a 20-foot screen. You can enjoy live soccer, food, drink, and games.

And of course, I would always suggest taking a hike in the great outdoors. Here's a picture of Green Mountain which is a very easy hike for beginners. The hike takes about 2 hours.

Here are directions to Green Mountain:
Take I-70 West from Denver for about 9 miles to C470-East exit (exit 260). Go about 2 miles on C470 East and take the Alameda Parkway exit. Turn right onto Alameda Parkway, then take your first right onto Rooney Road. Go about 1.5 miles and the trail head parking lot is on your right.

There are also FREE days at:
Denver Art Museum: June 7th

Denver Museum of Nature and Science: June 2nd, and 30th
